My entire trip to Toronto was Great but there is still something I want to talk about.
I don't really write a long story unless it's something that truly motivated me. So today, I would like to share my experience with Aqours 4th Live DV in Toronto. (Note: it's a long story and I speak straight, if some of my following article bothers you, tell me. PLEASE READ TO END.
First thing first, the waiting game. I think that Cineplex's staff(s) knows what kind of fandom they'll get with this kind screening at this point since they did a lot of it.
I understand that staffs are trying to keep the door clear. But please give us a second choice other than telling us "You guys can't be here until your show starts", then we go down and the mall security tell us we can't stay there with gather in a crowd for "Security Reason".
Here is my little suggestion, why don't arrange the screening early in the morning or later afternoon when it's not busy that fans can enjoy and hang out before the show started. But don't take my word for it, it's ONLY my PERSONAL OPINION.
Ok, here comes the second unexpected event happened during the show. I know bag check is tedious, but please discourage drinking during the show, there are people ruining other people's day.
There are two guys drinking during the show and I don't know what they did, but they shout out the F-word to a lady like 10 seats right. As for where I stand on this situation? I'm not clear, but shout out the F-word to anyone is definitely disrespectful.
And the last boomer that really disappointed me it's WHY THE HELL DID THE THEATRE STAFF CUT THE VIDEO OFF WHILE IT'S STILL HAVE A ACTIVE VIDEO ?? I do not understand how any professional theater staff will do this. Can't they just look out the projector window and see?
Almost everyone is disappointed by that. It's the most important part of the show and the staff just cut from there? Let's say I'm staff, maybe let's say I don't know this is the important part of the show, I have no idea what is going on.
But if I just take ten seconds to take a look at what going on with the screen. All of these can be prevented. But to give the credit, the theater manager did respond to our complaint, on-site, and they did show us the last part, but there are only like 25 ppl in the auditorium.
But we are the 25 people who actually got a Cineplex voucher, but at that time, I think that's what they can do, most people have left the theater and heading out. I did saw the manager had a quick meeting with few staffs, they showed their responsibility. Nothing to say here. Great
Ok, no offsenive to anyone, including all Cineplex theater staffs, manager and mall security guard. If you know me before, I know I'm from New York, I know I already watched, I know that I'm handing out stuff and someone tried to stop you, you will definitely complain.
And I'm DEFINITELY NOT TRYING TO PUT TORONTO ON THE DV BAN LIST. I heard people that they travel 13 hours to NYC just to watch the 1st live, maybe some people are in that financial situation where they can't afford a round trip to Japan and local DV is the only option.
I totally understand that. What I'm trying to explain and express myself is what Cineplex Toronto need to work on, where they should start fixing it and how they can grow better. I write all my DV experience with locals, hope Cineplex's people can work on it.
I hope I can see some change at Aqours 5th live, I know they can definitely nail it, but until then. No comment will be made by me.
